Cornflour dough Christmas tree ornaments

Fun activity for kids- and great way to decorate your tree

I was trying to think of an interesting way to make Christmas tree ornaments, and I came up with this really easy recipe to make dough figures, which can be decorated.

The dough mix

1 parts cornflour

2 parts baking soda

Mix, add water till it becomes a thick liquid ( it will fizz initially)

Microwave for 30 seconds on high, and it will become a dough that looks like this.

Knead it well and shape the dough into stars, balls, or flat ovals or circles on which you can paint later.

Another idea is to pour some tiny embroidery sequins on a paper and press your stars or other shapes on it. The sequins get pressed into the shape and it will look beautiful when it dries.

Make sure you pierce a hole in everything, so that you’ll be able to hang it up later.

Use glitter glue and paint to decorate your ornaments. I’m sure your kids will love doing this!!

Pasta art

Absolutely cool pasta animals!!

I came across a box of animal shaped pasta today and thought of a great idea. I gave it to the kids to paint in different colors and now its gonna become their newest toy. They can use them to make a zoo, or load them up in a truck. I can also give them glue and help them glue the animals to a forest they draw and color.

The ideas are limitless. I love pasta animals

Here’s a link to some other cool stuff you can do with pasta animals
